The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge is the Newest Member of the Volvo Family
June 13 2022,
New for 2022, the Volvo C40 Recharge is the latest model to join the growing Volvo lineup and the first one to be available only with an electric powertrain.
A modern style
The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge shows a new design language that sets it apart from its competitors by giving it a sporty and youthful appearance that can be highlighted by a choice of lively paint colours. The low and arching roofline conveys an impression of speed and it also serves a functional purpose since it improves the aerodynamics of the vehicle. Inside, the C40 Recharge is very similar to the XC40 Recharge, which means it benefits from a modern cabin that features all of the latest technologies and an uncluttered feel that is inspired by traditional Scandinavian designs. To liven up the atmosphere, blue carpeting is available for the floor and the door pockets in conjunction with many of the exterior colours.
The latest in electric powertrains
The new Volvo C40 Recharge is equipped with all of the latest advancements made in terms of electric propulsion. This translates into a 75-kWh battery pack that affords a 364-kilometer range and a charging time of only 33 minutes between 10% and 80%. The actual powertrain is composed of two electric motors, one on each axle, which deliver a combined output of 402 horsepower. This is enough to place the C40 Recharge among the most powerful Volvo models ever made and it is responsible for a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of only 4.7 seconds.
The Google-based infotainment system
The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge comes standard with the Google-based infotainment system pioneered by Volvo in some 2021 models. This means that it is equipped with the Google Assistant which can be used to control various functions of the vehicle or the driver’s phone by simply saying a command using natural speech. This system is also capable of acting as a remote to control certain functions of the vehicle, such as the cabin conditioning system, by interacting with a residential Google home device.
