Volvo Cars to Offer Prime Video and YouTube as In-Car Entertainment Options
September 15 2023,

Volvo Cars has announced that it will introduce Prime Video and YouTube as new in-car entertainment choices for its users. The Swedish automaker revealed that Prime Video is now available for download from Google Play in all regions where Google's apps and services are accessible. Additionally, YouTube is expected to be incorporated into Volvo's infotainment system shortly.
The new additions represent a concerted effort by Volvo to expand its software and application offerings for drivers. Erik Severinson, Volvo's Global Head of New Car Programmes, remarked, “We are delivering on our promise of building cars that grow with our customers over time.”
These streaming services will become accessible as pre-installed apps in Volvo vehicles, starting from September 18th. The deployment will occur in a phased manner via over-the-air (OTA) updates. Volvo Cars joins the league of the first automakers to offer Prime Video, thus broadening its in-car entertainment spectrum.
While the inclusion of video streaming services bolsters the entertainment options available to drivers and passengers, Volvo maintains its focus on safety. Accordingly, video streaming functionality will be restricted to times when the car is fully stationary.
By integrating these popular streaming platforms, Volvo Cars aims to provide a more comprehensive and dynamic driving experience, ensuring that customers have a variety of entertainment options at their fingertips, even when their car is not in motion.
