The Volvo EX30, a new addition to Volvo Car Canada's electric vehicle lineup, has nearly reached the halfway point in its pre-sale phase, with sales starting on October 18. This impressive uptake signifies a shift towards electric vehicles, as shown by Volvo's October sales data, where EVs comprised 20.8% of their total sales in Canada. This shift supports Volvo's strategic aim to transition to an exclusively electric vehicle lineup by 2030 and its commitment to carbon neutrality by 2040.
The EX30 stands out for its commitment to sustainability, boasting an interior made of 30% recycled and renewable materials and an exterior comprising 25% recycled aluminum. With a starting price of $53,700, the EX30 offers a variety of color and interior design options.
In terms of power and safety, the EX30 provides two electric propulsion choices, including a Twin Motor Performance model with 422 horsepower, which accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The vehicle incorporates comprehensive safety features like the Blind Spot Information System and Driver Alert System, upholding Volvo's legacy of prioritizing safety.
Customers in Canada can now personalize their EX30 online, with deliveries expected to start in Summer 2024.
