Volvo Recharge plug-in hybrid models get significant increase in range
April 29 2022,
The entire lineup of Volvo plug-in hybrid Recharge models now will offer significantly more range from an improved battery while also delivering a lot more power. The announcement was made earlier this month by Volvo.
Volvo plug-in hybrid Recharge models are powered by a combination of a 2 L supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine along with a rear electric motor and a battery. Among the many changes made to the improved 2022 Volvo plug-in hybrid Recharge models, we find a new 18.8 kWh battery which replaces the outgoing 11.6 kWh battery. This translates into an improved range for all Volvo plug-in hybrid models. The table below shows just how much the pure electric range increases in 2022 Volvo Recharge models.

The other significant improvement made to the Volvo Recharge lineup is the electric motor which is now more powerful. This motor now delivers 143 hp compared to 87 hp. This ultimately translates into a total output of 455 hp compared to 400 hp. Volvo Recharge models are now the most powerful vehicles ever produced by Volvo.
Volvo Recharge models also get improved capability that includes the addition of one pedal driving which we see on electric vehicles but rarely on P HEV models. This new technology allows the user to control accelerations and deceleration's using only the accelerator.
