Volvo Sales Exceed Expectations in 2023
January 02 2024,
Volvo Car Canada saw significant growth in 2023, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. The company saw a 25% increase in overall sales, reaching a record-breaking total of 12,865 vehicles. This surge was primarily driven by the popularity of its Recharge line, comprising fully electric and plug-in hybrid models. Accounting for 35% of the total sales—a 30% increase from the previous year—over 4,000 Recharge vehicles found homes across Canada.
2024: The Year Ahead for Volvo
With an eye on the future, Volvo Car Canada is introducing two groundbreaking fully electric models in 2024: the Volvo EX90, a seven-seat flagship SUV, and the Volvo EX30, the smallest SUV in the Volvo family. These models, equipped with advanced battery technology and next-generation computing, are poised to keep Volvo at the forefront of the EV revolution.
Revolutionizing the Customer Experience
Volvo's commitment to innovation extends beyond its vehicle lineup. The company reported a 40% increase in online sales in 2023, thanks to its One Price Promise sales model. This approach provides a transparent, negotiation-free shopping experience, which Volvo believes will continue to attract customers in 2024. This model is available both online and in physical stores, ensuring a seamless and customer-friendly purchasing journey.
Sustainability at the Core of Retail
The opening of the Volvo Retailer Sustainability Experience (VRSE) facilities marks another milestone for Volvo Car Canada. These locations opened in 2023 and are designed to meet the highest environmental standards. Powered by renewable energy, these state-of-the-art facilities represent Volvo's commitment to sustainability in every aspect of its business.
Reflecting on the year's achievements, Matt Girgis, President of Volvo Car Canada, shared his pride in the company's progress. "We are proud of the strides we’ve made as a company this year, from enhancing the customer experience to working towards our ambitious electrification goals while setting sales and performance records," he said. Girgis also extended his gratitude to Volvo's retail partners and loyal customers, whose support has been integral to the company's success and growth journey.
